Conflicts New Business Intake Attorney Duties: Assist firm attorneys and members of the firm s management in the timely identification and resolution of complex conflict of interest issues as they arise in the intake of new business for the firm. Analyze client/matter data through the Elite Conflicts Database; Complete legal research as needed; Assist in the preparation, review, and application of waivers and/or consents to ensure compliance with ethical rules and firm policies and standards; Assist with maintenance and update of the conflicts database. Become proficient in understanding and utilization of Conflicts Database.Effectively work with Managers, Directors, Conflict Analysts and firm attorneys to obtain the relevant conflict information, to make determinations on basic conflicts issues. Escalate appropriate technical and commercial conflicts and business sensitivity issues to firm management and the General Counsels Office as necessary, including preparing appropriate briefing materials. Facilitate the process of seeking conflict consents from clients. Stay informed of rule changes and legal developments in ethics, conflicts and compliance issues. Assist with information distribution, including training, concerning ethics, conflicts and compliance issues. Understand the conflicts and ethics rules in each jurisdiction in which the firm practices. Assist with special projects to enhance the conflicts clearance process. All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our Global Citizenship program; and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: JD Degree and Bar membership in good standing required. 1+ years of relevant work experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Conflicts analysis and resolution experience a plus. Very strong writing, research, analytical, and organizational skills; Ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the firm with professionalism, confidence, responsiveness, tact, and approachable. Ability to provide outstanding customer service and interact collegially with all attorneys and staff throughout the world. Substantive familiarity with relevant rules of professional conduct, case law applying the rules, and other relevant authorities. Ability to work efficiently to provide a quality and accurate work product, meet tight deadlines, and to work well under pressure.
