Trademark Paralegal Duties: Provide a wide range of support with regard to trademark searches, docketing, reporting, filing and other conventional aspects of a trademark practice. Responsibilities generally include, but are not limited to, conducting preliminary trademark searches, preparing and filing with the USPTO applications (including Madrid applications) and other documentation associated with the prosecution and maintenance of trademark registrations, coordinating trademark filings with foreign counsel, communicating with clients about upcoming deadlines, preparing and delivering client reporting letters for various aspects of the trademark prosecution process, reviewing and processing communications from trademark offices, assisting in the preparation of office action responses and general support of our trademark lawyers and practice. Requirements: 2+ years' relevant trademark paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm environment or in-house trademark team practice. Strong working knowledge of Excel. Working knowledge of Foundation-IP, the firm s docketing software, or the ability to quickly learn and use unfamiliar software. General trademark experience, including clearance, prosecution, and enforcement experience and confidence of the U.S. trademark prosecution processes, laws and guidelines. Some experience with foreign trademark prosecution processes is considered an asset. The candidate must have knowledge of, substantial experience and facility in using the U.S. trademark rules, procedures, and guidelines, and IP docketing software. Experience with international trademark procedures and filings is preferred. An aptitude and appreciation for fluid and dynamic responsibilities and roles. Excellent written and oral communication skills, a high-level of attention to detail and strong sense of accountability are required. Excellent written and oral expression. High comfort level with work in a distributed environment without in-person supervision. Eagerness to actively build relationships. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to demonstrate professional discretion and sound judgment when necessary. Ability to issue-spot and escalate matters to other team members. Must work well both independently and as a contributing member of hardworking team. Work effectively under sometimes time-sensitive conditions. Strong prioritization skills. Ability to multi-task. Conscientious and strong work ethic.
