Paralegal - Litigation The candidate will review and summarize new case files. Gathering medical records and other discoveries via subpoenas, authorizations, social media, etc. Tracking, organization, and preparation of discovery materials going to counsel, experts, and other witnesses. Assist attorneys with trial preparation. Legal research and other functions as required. Service of Guardianship notices to patients in local facilities. Should have 2-5 years of experience. Working with attorneys defending matters of Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Product Liability, Employment Law, Transportation, Construction defects, and other areas of Civil Defense is preferred. Strong working knowledge of Civil Court processes in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia is required. Demonstrated experience following the legal process in the preparation and service of Subpoenas in the DC, MD, and VA jurisdictions is essential. Experience with foreign subpoena preparation is a plus. Microsoft Office proficiency, attention to detail, and strong research skills, with programs such as Lexis Nexis, are required. Must work well under pressure, possess a strong teamwork ethic and proactive work style.
