Litigation Secretary Duties: Filing court documents; Drafting discovery and discovery responses; Preparation of document summaries; Preparation and service of subpoenas; and, Assisting with trial preparation, including reviewing and organizing documents for trial, preparation of jury instructions, trial exhibits, and trial binders. Collective Bargaining Group Duties include, but are not limited to: Researching existing pay and benefits provided to City/County employees; Creating draft proposals for negotiation sessions; Tracking agency and City/County outstanding action items; Tracking the status of agency and City/County proposals and parties positions on the proposals; Creating concessions matrices for individual clients and attorney use; Creating PowerPoint presentations for member/MOU ratification meetings; Assisting with arbitration preparation, including reviewing and organizing documents, preparation of arbitration exhibits and binders; Preparation of negotiation binders for attorneys and labor relations representatives and clients; Corresponding with labor clients on behalf of attorneys and labor relations representatives; and Finalizing new Memorandums of Understandings including ensuring MOU matches proposals/tentative agreements. Qualifications: 3+ years' experience as a litigation secretary/paralegal required. Experienced and knowledgeable litigation secretary/paralegal who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated to support the firm Civil Litigation and Collective Bargaining Groups. A thorough understanding of state and federal filing requirements and procedures, California Rules of Court and local rules is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) is a must. Experience preparing PowerPoint presentations preferred. Strong grammar and proofreading skills required.
