Corporate Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be compiling, preparing and summarizing written materials for use by attorneys in all phases of corporate litigation; Drafting of routine court documents for attorney review and approval; Preparation of pleadings and other docketed material for service and filing, with a particular emphasis on electronic filing of documents using the DE Chancery Court's File&Serve system and related filing platforms; Maintaining case files and tracking/managing document discovery; Updating and otherwise managing attorney calendars with particular attention to court dates and other relevant case-related deadlines; Indexing, tracking and otherwise controlling exhibits and other materials for depositions, hearings or trials; Performing general administrative support functions as needed to meet deadlines and further the objectives of the practice group. Service: Demonstrated desire to understand both internal and external client concerns, building trust from consumers of support services. Diligence: Monitor, proofread and take ownership of work product for accuracy; ability to apply organizational strategies to ensure projects are appropriately prioritized and resources are used effectively and efficiently; perform work independently, with little supervision. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and coherently, both verbally and in writing, adapting communication style and medium to best meet particular situations. Demonstrate consistent excellence in spelling, grammar and proofreading skills. Ethical Integrity: Strict adherence to the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct and client confidentiality requirements. Exhibit professionalism at all times and in all communications. Deep commitment to working collectively with other Legal Assistants, staff members and attorneys to meet common goals. Consistently identify willingness and ability to provide support wherever needed. Recognize and embrace cross-training concepts in order to provide assistance and support to broader firm population as needed. Strong knowledge of the firm's document management system and all software components of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Expert-level ability to apply firm template, styles and other customizations to work product. Commitment to continuous technological skill-building, particularly as the firm and the courts introduce additional programs; frequent use of the firm's learning management software, Nichols University, to consistently hone technical skills. Paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree in relevant field. Comparable experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Three-five years of administrative support experience in a professional services field. Law firm legal support experience, particularly in Delaware, is strongly preferred. Established expertise in Microsoft Office 365 suite of software programs, as well as experience in utilizing document management software. Familiarization with e-filing in Delaware and/or federal courts is strongly preferred. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as expertise in the Microsoft Office 365 suite of software programs. Legal Assistants must work well in a team setting, exhibiting independence in the performance of individual assignments while working collectively with teammates toward common goals to ensure the overall success of the group's full range of services. dDmonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, seeking opportunities to add value wherever possible. This individual will proactively seek out ways to bring broad support and greater efficiencies to a fast-paced, sophisticated practice.
