Patent Paralegal Candidate will work with an integrated team across firm s offices to perform paralegal functions of a variable nature which require a significant degree of knowledge, decision making and independent judgment. Will play an important role in our ability to deliver exceptional client service. Will: Develop and maintain systems to collect, store and retrieve data. Locate and expedite requested documentation; draft original correspondence and materials for communication under attorney s signature; draft original correspondence to various parties and clients for own signature. Communicate with clients, government agencies/officials, consultants and various other parties on a regular basis to collect and assemble information. Qualifications: A Bachelor degree and/or paralegal certificate or equivalent experience within an Intellectual Property practice area. 2+ years' IP patent prosecution experience (preferred). Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated analytical ability. The ability to set priorities, exercise independent judgment, and initiate projects. The ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines; responsible; resourceful; professional. Basic knowledge of all aspects of U.S. patent prosecution, including: identifying incoming communications from the USPTO and foreign associates and preparation of template responses for same. Experience conducting searches on databases. Knowledge of online resources including EFS-Web electronic filing system and PAIR, Global IP Estimator, and at least one docket database (preferably Foundation IP). Japanese or Chinese language proficiency is a plus that could be utilized by team.
