Conflicts Attorney Duties: Performs conflicts clearance related to new professional hires. Initiates the conflicts clearance process for all new engagements in response to new client/matter requests from partners. Actively consults and follows-up with the responsible partners handling new engagements regarding conflicts clearance. Researches various print and electronic resources necessary to identify and resolve potential conflicts. Resolves conflicts and documents the conflict clearance process. Initiates and documents any needed client waivers. Implements and maintains ethical walls and screens by obtaining timekeeper information, drafting screening memos, and other communications. Maintains the conflicts database with appropriate information about firm clients and matters, client subsidiaries and affiliates, related parties, etc. Enters information obtained during the conflicts clearance process in the conflicts database documenting the resolution of conflicts and any waivers, where necessary. Assists with research to support the Firm s business development and marketing department activities as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by Firm management. Qualifications: Law degree from an accredited law school is required. Bar membership in the jurisdiction where located is required; candidates for Bar membership must be admitted (by waiver or exam) in accordance with the jurisdictional admission rules and requirements. Experience working with the Rules of Professional Conduct is needed; familiarity with analogous rules in other jurisdictions where the Firm has offices is a plus. Familiarity with modern business organizational/governance/ownership models, structures, and interrelationships. Excellent analytical skills, written communications skills, and judgment. Familiarity with automated conflict of interest clearance workflow procedures and systems as found in AmLaw 100 and 200 law firms is preferred. Excellent business research abilities using various online databases and print resources. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish close working relationships with the Firm A?A s lawyers and administrative and support staff. Facility with MS Office and similar business software.
