Senior Legal Project/Paralegal Manager The candidate will apply sound project management and legal project management principles and processes to the planning, budgeting, and execution of client matters. Will translate project management documentation to the legal matter environment including project plans, charters, budget estimates, and risk assessments. Track and manage matter budgets with respect to time billed, timekeeper expenses, vendor expenses and write-offs, flag out-of-scope work to improve overall matter efficiency and collaborate with attorneys and staff to identify resources and staffing that best align with budget proposals. Assist attorneys and members of the legal teams to create budgets and monitor performance against the budget; monitor and provide metrics, reports and analysis to the legal teams for matters throughout the engagement. Administer the HighQ Collaborate data site where legal teams and clients can collaborate and share information, and train, coach and mentor the attorney team in legal project management tools, methods and best practices. Train on legal project management principles and identify process improvements to improve firm profitability and client satisfaction with firm services. Directly supervise other LPM's, Paralegal's and Litigation Support Case Manager's, Docketing Specialist. Responsible for hiring, training, and planning; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The candidate should have Bachelor's degree; a JD or MBA degree is preferred. Project or process management certifications, such as PMP or Six Sigma, are preferred. Should have a good understanding of law firm processes and attorney-client relationships. Should have 2-5 years of experience in law firm pricing and managing large projects with complex variables and budgets within a high matrixed organization. Management experience is required. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
