Bilingual Associate Personal Injury Attorney Duties: Assist case managers with attorney specific expertise in clearing liability, reviewing insurance contracts, assisting in recorded statements, etc. Attorney will be required to prepare and review drafts of demands and letters, preparing for and appearing for mediation, and preparing settlement summaries for clients. Will be responsible for negotiating directly with adjusters and opposing counsel, including tracking and drafting correspondence for claims in litigation and pre-litigation. Will be asked to assist in reviewing potential new clients for firm, meet with prospective clients to explaining the claim and litigation process, and be available to assist intake specialists as needed. Will involve some after hours and weekend phone calls and meetings, some of which will be out of the office. Will involve entry level litigation, such as: handling friendly suits and minor settlement hearings from start to finish; assisting senior attorneys in trial, depositions, hearings, etc.; preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, and working with clients to answer discovery, etc. Communication and coordination with outside counsel for referral and joint responsibility cases, including locating such counsel when needed. Qualifications: Newly licensed or new to personal injury law to learn and fine tune their personal injury knowledge and skills. must have a law degree from an accredited law school, an active Texas law license, and must be fully bilingual with superlative skills in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish as well as English. Federal court admissions, Needles case management, and Texas personal injury experience are all a plus.
