Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Preparing and filing all court documents. Conducting various document searches and research. Coordinating trial set-up and logistics. Assist attorneys in preparation and during depositions, hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Communicate with courts, case administrators, opposing counsel, witnesses, and experts. Organize, manage, and maintain cases, files, and databases. Accurately maintaining a very active litigation calendar for entire office and staying on top of upcoming deadlines. Research title and secured interests for mechanic s liens and enforcement of judgments. Assist Office Manager and staff as necessary. Qualifications: Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university with 3-7 years experience preferred. Experience in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Experience with the Maryland, Virginia, and/or Washington, DC court systems and Federal court counterparts. Experience in Civil Litigation, preferably Commercial, Real Estate, and/or Construction Litigation. Accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional attitude and demeanor. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Litigation Paralegal experience or combination of Paralegal and Legal Secretary experience at litigation law firms. Trial preparation and trial support experience. Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with WestLaw and LexisNexis, Document Management Systems, and expense and billing systems.
