Legal Secretary The candidate duties will include transcribing, word processing, typing, scanning, copying, filing Court documents, making appointments and maintaining attorneys calendars, and assisting with answering phones. Duties: prepare legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery, subpoenas and other correspondence from verbal and written instructions; tag filings and maintain records within the firm s software and filing system; coordinate document deliveries to the Court or other participants through a run service or process server ensuring all associated court dates and deadlines are properly calendared; provide backup to at least one other legal secretary, including taking over the duties and responsibilities of the secretary whenever the secretary is absent; and perform any other duties that may be requested by the Supervising Secretary or firm administration. Should have 5+ years of Nevada litigation experience. Must possess knowledge of County, State and Federal court filing guidelines and District Court e-filing and e-service procedures, as well as knowledge of legal phrases, terminology, content and formatting of legal documents pursuant to the applicable Court rules. Must be able to proofread documents for grammatical, typographical, spelling, and formatting errors. Should be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Pro, and Outlook and type at least 60 words per minute (typing certificate required). Knowledge of filings with the Secretary of State are a plus.
