Toxic Tort Environment Law Paralegal/Researcher Responsibilities: Identifying and confirming employment history and residential history for individuals. Requesting and obtaining items such as building permits, inspection reports, abatement records, OSHA records, AHERA records, EPA records, various kinds of maps and historical plans. Conducting company background research including prior litigation and identifying former employees. May work late nights and weekends as needed on time-sensitive projects. Conduct in-depth research on individuals and/or corporate entities using the full range of U.S. and international open sources (Social Networking sites, media, public records etc.). May travel to relevant jurisdictions to perform investigations, on site public records research in courts, agencies, libraries, etc. Document investigation searches and results in case management system in accordance with internal protocols. Organize materials and accurately write reports of results in correct format. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. 5+ years of conducting research, requesting records, organizing documents. 5+ years' industry experience with toxic tort/environmental law or product liability. Be, or be eligible to be, licensed as a private investigator. Knowledge of the court system. Knowledge of online databases and research. Report writing experience. Experience with complex fact investigations and alternative causation research. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. Must be able to work late nights and weekends as needed on time-sensitive projects. Be well organized and detail-oriented and possess strong analytical, and communication skills. Be independent, self-motivated, and self-monitoring, but also be able to collaborate and interact with all levels and types of individuals including internal staff, and clients. Be discrete and professional, and have the ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to research and investigative projects, as well as company activities and practices. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks. Must have come computer database skills. Experience with legal technology services is a plus. Proficiency in CRM and case management systems is preferred. Established industry relationships that can be leveraged for new sales/revenue generation a plus.
