Nurse Consultant / Paralegal The candidate will assist attorneys by providing nursing support services on complex legal files. Will review medical records to assess appropriateness of treatment. Review and organize medical records. Analyze medical records to evaluate care and status of the claimant. Retain and coordinate with medical experts. Draft medical summaries. Draft letters summarizing expert opinions and may perform additional duties as assigned. Nursing degree and prior litigation experience is recommended. Should preferably be a nurse with practical experience working in one of the following medical settings: hospital or nursing home or House Physician; Hospitalist; Physician's Assistant. A person with the skill sets to be able to review medical records and offer insight into liability and causation issues and help with the defense strategy needed. Should have strong computer skills including MS Office and other business related software systems. Must have excellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks. Should be proficient reading and writing English including professional phone etiquette.
