Practice Assistant / Legal Secretary The candidate will manage closing checklists and due diligence. Experience creating closing binders and overseeing document delivery. Revising various documents, preparing redlines, reviewing comments to loan documents. Preparing and reviewing signature pages. Type legal documents, correspondence and forms. Learn different practice areas (corporate, labor and employment, FIBRE, etc.) Efficient workflow including the duplication, printing, mailing and merging of documents. Proofreading all work for both content and context. Preparing and maintaining client/office files both in electronic and paper filing systems. Accurate entry of lawyer time into the accounting systems. Preparation and submission of new client and/or new matter forms. Planning and making travel arrangements which include transportation, automobile rentals and hotel reservations. Experience with project finance and closing sophisticated transactions with multiple loan parties and collateral in various jurisdictions is essential. Experience dealing with title/survey/recorder s office, a plus. Experience working with institutional lenders, a plus. Prior use of a document management system required; experience with NetDocs, in particular, preferred. Must have 3+ years of Legal Secretary experience. High school diploma or equivalent required.
