Immigration Associate Attorney Responsibilities : Will be authoring briefs for submission before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Will be writing motions for submission before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Immigration Court. Appearing at Master Calendar Hearings, Individual Hearings, and Custody Re-Determination Hearings before the Immigration Court throughout the United States. Appearing at Asylum Officer Interviews, Adjustment of Status Interviews, Naturalization Interviews, and other appearances before the Citizenship and Immigration Services in San Francisco, California and elsewhere in the United States. Preparing family-based petitions, asylum applications, naturalization applications, and other forms. Preparing evidentiary submissions during Removal Proceedings, such as exhibit lists. Preparing client declarations. Requirements : Must possess a Juris Doctorate degree. Must be an active member of a state bar in good standing, preferably the State Bar of California. Must be fluent in the English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese languages (i.e., an ability to read, write, and speak in these languages). Possess strong writing skills and have a commitment to serve the immigrant community. Experience with Microsoft Word, LexisNexis, Cerenade (for the forms program "Eimmigration"), and American Immigration Lawyers Association InfoNet is preferable.
