Title : Real Estate Paralegal

Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will manage Real Estate transactions, use templates to Prepare Estate Planning Documents, answer and return phone calls, schedule appointments; Intake clients and setup files, draft letters and fill in templates of basic legal documents, assist the managing attorney on other various matters. Review title, survey, and title commitments and respond to all correspondence from other attorneys, inquiries from title companies, and other third-party vendors and counter-parties. Perform due diligence, coordinate, and implement transactions and work with the team to close transactions. Work with vendors to order various due diligence certificates and searches, municipal and village requirements, obtaining lien and judgment payoffs, etc. Work directly with the title companies to finalize title policies for transactions. Track transaction tasks and phases and communicate progress to the team as issues and/or items are resolved. Prepare signature page packets and coordinate signatures of various deal participants. Assist attorneys in preparation for closings. Prepare closing documents (including the deed, bill of sale, ALTA, and POAs). Follow up on an extensive array of post-closing matters. Conduct research and gather information using general and legal research tools. Other responsibilities as the client need dictate. The candidate should have Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate or appropriate job-related experience. Should have 3 years of experience as a real estate paralegal with law firm experience, and Substantial Title and Survey experience. Must have 3-5 years of experience with residential and commercial real estate transactions. Experience with reviewing title and survey matters in connection with complex real estate and loan transactions. Probate and Estate Planning experience is a plus. Must have excellent, organizational, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills. Must have exceptional drafting, proofreading, and communication skills. The ability to work independently, plan and take initiative to accomplish objectives promptly with minimum supervision. Must be a team player while effectively and efficiently using firm resources. Must have strong interpersonal and communication (oral, written, and presentation) skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, have proficiency with MS Office and Smokeball is a plus. Must have the ability to independently draft letters with and/or without templates, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence. Must commit to proofreading and to ensure that the work product is professional, and ability to take dictation and/or notes from supervising attorney.
