Attorney Development Assistant Duties: Works closely with the Senior Attorney Development Managers and the Attorney Development Managers, collectively, the ADMs, to provide critical support for the associate development process. Assists with projects and processes related to associate staffing, workforce allocation, diversity, and feedback and reviews, as well as other projects and processes related to Attorney Development and Diversity and Human Resources. Assists the ADMs in gathering and organizing feedback on associate performance; coordinates the scheduling of quarterly associate development meetings and meetings between the ADMs and various partners to gather and discuss associate performance feedback; and organizes written feedback into a database on associate performance. Supports ADMs by gathering, organizing and disseminating associate information such as hours reports, practice group interests, clerkship or fellowship experience, and work assignments. Assists ADMs in their interactions with associates by coordinating meetings between the ADMs and their associates. Works with ADMs in supporting associate training by helping to create training materials and updating the infoNet associate training pages for the departments and practice groups. Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's or other undergraduate degree required. 1+ year work experience in human resources or related field is preferred. Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Knowledge of electronic databases, viDesktop and SurveyMonkey a plus. Excellent typing, written and verbal communication skills required. Understanding of and familiarity with the diverse practice areas within a large law firm a plus. Demonstrate the ability to maintain the strict confidentiality of the firm's internal and personnel affairs and information. Have excellent attention to detail. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Have ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including attorneys, management staff and support staff. Demonstrate a positive, proactive and self-directed approach. Be able to work independently as well as within a team environment; both follow up and follow through to ensure work is completed appropriately. Understand details within a larger context. Have flexibility in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; be able to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks. Be able to plan, organize and carry out multiple related activities. Be able to work in a multiple office environment. Be able to work effectively in a culturally and educationally diverse environment.
