Legal Secretary - Labor & Employment Duties: Inputs, revises and finalizes correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents. Drafts routine correspondence, memoranda and other documents. Maintains multiple document changes with redlines and track changes. Proofreads documents and checks for appropriate formatting, spelling and grammar. Verifies all attachments, exhibits and enclosures are included with transmittal letters/memos. Maintains good public relations with clients. Prepares audit letters. Sorts, dates and reads incoming mail. Prepares documents and packages for mail, messenger and overnight delivery. Prepares expense reports, manage vendor invoices, mailings, meetings, conferences and travel arrangements. Completes client/matter forms. Requests conflicts of interest checks. Opens new files. Maintains all client and general files. Conducts periodic review for possible storage of old files and prepares files to be closed. Enters attorney daily time. Submit as required by firm guidelines. Greets clients and visitors. Coordinates and follows through on requests and projects with other support departments (e.g., word processing, receptionists, file/document clerks, office services). Reviews and edits bills as necessary. Provides overflow and absence assistance for attorney secretarial support. Other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications: Typing speed/accuracy: 70 wpm with accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent grammatical and spelling skills. Familiarity with Carpe Diem, Elite, document management systems or similar technology. Excellent interpersonal skills. Professional business appearance. Willingness to learn new software. Must be flexible and able to work overtime.
