ONSITE3 now offers voice-to-text conversion

ONSITE3TM, a leading global provider of one-source litigation support for law firms and corporations, has added voice-to-text conversion technology to its Electronic Evidence Enterprise (E3) platform for fast processing of electronic discovery. ONSITE3's new technology can convert audio tracks from video files into electronic-text format. Text transcripts and original media files can also be hosted within ONSITE3's eViewTM document-review platform, enabling effective and efficient document review of voicemail messages based on voiceover IP technology. ONSITE3 offers litigation services to clients providing end-to-end solutions and consulting services.

Online paralegal studies program launched by Bryant & Stratton College

Recognizing the expanding market for legal assistants and paralegals, Bryant & Stratton College (B&SC) has started a new associate degree program for paralegal studies. The new program on the web is designed to train graduates aspiring to work in the legal profession under the guidance of attorneys. The program will prepare students to prepare cases and legal forms. Its paralegal graduates will also have the opportunity to take the Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) exam. More than 90% of the college's recent graduates have entered their chosen or related fields of study, and its online programs draw students from across the country as well as around the globe. The U.S. Department of Labor estimates that employment for paralegals and legal assistants will grow rapidly through 2014.

CAAS collaborates with Index Engines

Constantine & Aborn Advisory Services (CAAS), a leading litigation consultancy company, has entered into a relationship with Index Engines. A frontrunner in the field of enterprise discovery solutions, Index Engines will cater to CAAS's requirements regarding electronic discovery of backup tape data. In all likelihood, this collaboration will benefit CAAS and its customers by reorganizing the backup-data discovery process. The technology will also curtail CAAS's mounting costs and manpower requirements. Lack of suitable technology makes the recovery of e-discovery data from backup tapes extremely expensive. Index Engines streamlines the process by obtaining all content and metadata indexes from backup tapes without having to restore them.

Law firm gives website a facelift

As more and more law firms are obtaining new business through online marketing, law firm Ellis, Ged & Bodden recently enhanced its Internet presence by redesigning its website. The new website will concentrate on search-engine performance in addition to providing information about the firm's location and practice areas. Ellis, Ged & Bodden, PA, headquartered in Boca Raton, has been providing services to the South Florida community for more than a decade. The firm offers legal counsel and professional service in a number of areas and has been recognized by the Florida Justice Association as an Eagle Patron Member.

Paralegal recognized for military service

Tech. Sgt. Daniel Velarde, a paralegal with the 50th Space Wing Judge Advocate Office, was welcomed home with a new call sign and a medal after his deployment to Iraq. His exemplary performance earned him the name "High Speed," according to the Schriever Air Force Base website. Velarde is also only the second mid-level Air Force NCO in Task Force 134 to have received the prestigious Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Sergeant Velarde was a military-training leader at Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas prior to entering the paralegal profession in 2003.
